Eloise the Cat

Eloise spent some time basking in the sun today. This is the first time she's spent so much time in the living room since she has lived here.

I gave her some catnip from the yard, and she got a little bit silly. You can see it on the table there.

She *is* becoming more relaxed, sometimes takes her naps on the screened porch, and spends more time with us. Really a very nice cat, and she likes me best. Everyone needs a best friend.

It's very soft, fine fur. If she is close to the breed we think she is (Siberian Forest Cat), she will moult twice a year rather than shed year-round. But they still need brushing a lot. They are also supposed to less allergenic, have less of a certain protein in their saliva.

I really wanted a short-hair cat, but we can't always dictate these things.

She's peppy all night while on mouse patrol, and then zonks out during the day - we barely see her. We don't get a lot of sleep at night with all the mouse chasing and racing around.
