I think she had a bowl of onion and a bowl of some kind of vegetable soup like Minestrone maybe. She started eating from one of the bowls and when it got down aways I noticed that every so often she would pour some of her water into the bowl. And then in between doing that, she would scoop spoonsful from the other soup bowl into the one she was eating out of.
At the same time, there was apparently something in the auxiliary soup that she didn't like, so every so often she would reach her hand into her mouth and pull out some morsel that she sometimes set on the edge of the soup bowl, sometimes on the plate under it, and sometimes dropped right back into the bowl she was eating out of. In other words, she was throwing it back into the mix so she was likely to come across it again and have to pick it out again.
So picture it: woman leaning over a bowl of soup, reach to her right for the water glass and pour some in the soup, meanwhile continuously spooning soup into her mouth. Spoon, spoon. Then reach in front of her past the bowl to another bowl of soup and ladle several chunky spoonsful into her bowl. Spoon, spoon into her mouth. Reach up with her other hand and pull a little bit of vegetable or meat or who knows out the side of her mouth, setting it on the edge of the bowl, but not slowing down on shoveling soup into her mouth. Repeat the whole process.
Finally it was all gone and she wandered back to the food line. We left so I don't know what the next exciting process was going to be.
Maybe she read somewhere that the secret to losing weight is to eat some soup every day and drink lots of water.
