He was pleasantly surprised that the river still has texture in the form of small boulders, rather than being just a smooth, sandy bottom. Right now, the water is only 12 to 18 inches deep, but over the next couple of months, it will go up to 4 to 5 feet deep. Small rocks will get rearranged, and some of what we see today will get rearranged. We probably won't see this low water level until September or October so won't know what has changed in the riverbed until then.
At any rate, we're looking forward to a summer of good fishing.
