Bobcat Viewing

This film was taken at the visitors center at Roxborough State Park south of Denver, Colorado. They are usually very shy, and it was a surprise because he could obviously see the people inside the building, but was not bothered. They think he is there courting a female bobcat who lives near by.

Here's another bobcat, taken near Estes Park.

We saw them once in a great while when we lived on the farm.

People seem to be seeing them a lot this winter, maybe we'll see the one at the cabin this summer. We probably would if we had a yard cat. Maybe the mountain lion, too.

It reminds me so much of the fox that comes to my house, have to wonder how they came to lose their fear of being watched by humans. When we get deer in the yard, we have to crawl on the floor to the window because the slightest movement in the house sends them leaping away, and that other fox I saw last year was the same way. I've hoped for her to come back so I would get another chance, but I know that I'll blow it because I'll think it's the usual fox.

love the cat -- couldn't relate to this particular music in connection with the cat.

I didn't even turn on the sound. Guess I'd better check it out some time.

When I made it full screen it seemed like the cat was almost life-size!

Isn't it funny how short it is compared to the other cat breeds?

This is a real treat to get such a good, close look like this. It makes me want to get a camera to film the fox sometime. I wonder if I'll ever see him again.
