There it Is

Today I found out for sure that the highway department is going to blast away the cliff across from our gate and widen the highway and deal with the side of our driveway that isn't very stable. I'm so pleased, but of course am thinking about what that blasting is going to entail.

The little red cabin I'm working on now isn't all that far from blasting Ground Zero. It won't be for at least another year, so I think I should go ahead and finish the project, and then put plywood over the windows when it comes time for the blasting. They could change their mind and never even start on it, and I'd have wasted years waiting.

It's that cliff and general area that will be dealt with. The red cabin is to the left of the picture area, not far from the highway.

I wonder if they will tell us not to use the garage door openers while they are working. We don't get a cell phone signal, so don't use them up here, and I don't know what else could set it off.

You tell 'them' if they harm ANYTHING in MY red cabin they will have to answer to me!! (That should scare them--NOT!)

For sure that'll worry them. I'm going to park the old truck over there in case a big rock rolls onto it instead of the house.

My goodness. I can't imagine what it will be like!

Once it's done we'll still have a cliff, it'll just be further back. I'm trying to picture what it'll be like to be here while it's going on - we will have a front-row seat. I'm going to pack up my knick-knacks.
