The white tower isn't the Sahara, it's a high-rise condo.
My cousins from England had a thing for the Sahara because that's where they stayed when they came to Las Vegas in 2005 to be married by Elvis, so when they came back a couple of years later they stayed there again. The place was in the process of renovating the rooms and for some reason their room was on one of floors being worked on. They were there about 5 days, and by the time they left the entire floor had been gutted: naked rooms were standing open and even the carpets in the hallways had been ripped up. The guest elevators no longer stopped at their floor, and they had a hard time getting out of there with their luggage.
As far as I'm concerned, the sad thing about the closing is these camel lamps are not going to have a home.

I'd love to have one but we haven't figured out which of the used hotel furniture places is still in business.
