Here's the pool at the Flamingo Hotel. It's to the back of the property so the rooms don't look right down on it like so many of the pools on the Strip. It's a big rambling thing with all those shade trees.



There are rose gardens and some spots where bridal couples could pose for pictures. In that same area is the flamingo habitat. They had penguins, too, but a couple of years ago sent them to the zoo in Houston or somewhere.



Here's a standard room in 2007. It was a good-sized room, but nothing special.



And a 2009 standard room. The name embroidered on the bed throws is interesting.



Lately the Flamingo has set up an Asian-themed buffet. Here is one of the desserts - a cute little cake suspended in a gelatin made from white wine.
