Dresden Plate Quilt

I never use the Advanced Editor so this is a test to see how it works for to post a picture.

This is the inspiration for a quilt I am going to put together. The quilt blocks are all done, inherited from my mother, who bought them somewhere. I bought yellow fabric similar to the picture to make the sashes between the blocks. The pattern is called Dresden Plate.
We are short one block, and I agonized over what to do. No, I am not going to try to make a block that looks like the others, finally decided to cut a piece of muslin the same size as the other blocks, leaving it plain, and quilt it the same as the others, so looking at the quilt top, you can see what the quilt stitches look like on their own.

I say keep adding more quilts to the list...

And there are some more tops around here that I could finish, although I don't think they are so important. You're right, it's a matter of never saying 'done.' When my mother was dying, she enlisted my aunt and me (non-sewers) to help her finish three quilts in a couple of months.

I just love the yellow sashing, and that's the color I got for the one I'm going to do.

I hope so. It's very hard for me to get started on a project like this. I have to plan for years, although this one is on a shorter track because I finished a big quilt this past summer that I started the quilting of in April, so my confidence level is up. I can't die until these quilts are finished, so have to get past the thought that each one done is a whack off my life span.

Oh, I'm sure. That particular pattern would look nice in Florida.
