Budweiser Clydesdales

There is a Budweiser brewery near us, and they have a stable there for a team of Clydesdales (called a 'hitch'). They sometimes have meet and greet day at the stables where the public can drive out and have their picture taken with the horses, but in the more than 20 years that brewery has been there, the team has never appeared in Loveland (nearby town where we go for groceries), and less than 10 miles from the brewery.

"LOVELAND -- A local beer distributor has arranged an impressive photo opportunity in downtown Loveland: a visit of the Budweiser Clydesdales.

The iconic draft horse team and its red wagon will make deliveries around downtown Loveland the evening of Thursday, June 13.

The team will be hitched up in the Safeway parking lot, 860 N. Cleveland Ave., and drive around downtown from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., according to a press release from Loveland-based American Eagle Distributing Co.

They will head south on Cleveland Avenue to Fifth Street, go west to Railroad Avenue, south to Fourth Street, east to Lincoln Avenue and drive back north to Safeway.

The “hitch” of Clydesdales is based at the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Fort Collins, but the horses spend most of the year traveling to promotional events. This reportedly is the horses' first visit to Loveland.

They also will make appearances in Greeley during the Greeley Stampede Proclamation Ride, 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, June 14; and Old Town Fort Colllins, 6-8 p.m. Saturday, June 15, hitching up at Sports Authority, 425 S. College Ave."

I am excited, and am thinking of getting Mr. Troutbend to take me to see them parading through the downtown area. We don't do crowd scenes, but this sounds like it will be spread out enough that we can handle it.

Donna is more into horses than I am. She'd love taking pics.
