The Big Melt

It started snowing Saturday night, snowed all day Sunday. It's so pretty up here when it snows, we try to put the inconvenience behind us. Now the sun is out, and the snow on the ground is shrinking.

The first two pictures are of my side yard, taken with a game camera, when the storm started, and 24 hours later.

The dent is from shoveling a path out to the rain gauge.

Nice pictures, I like the way the bare trees fill up. The winter ended here early, apparently. I have this sense of not enough snow...

We're hoping for more snow over the next couple of months, not a big one like this, more spread out.

That was on big snowstorm on radar! I was thinking of you --- hoping all was well --- as I was video phoning with a good friend in the Denver area during the storm, watching the snow inches pile up before my eyes. Yikes!

There was a lot of warning/hype about the coming storm, and then it was about a day late starting in Colorado because the brunt of it went up into Wyoming first. People were getting sarcastic about the weather forecasters, and the forecasters were getting defensive. And then it finally did come with enough oomph to shut everyone up.
