I just got home from the gym...yes I go there. Since I broke my arm two years ago, it changed my entire metabolism. I gained weight that I fought so hard to lose and I wasn't eating any differently. When you go through something really traumatic like a fall, it can change everything in your body. Ask those who have gone through a huge accident. Anyway, I've changed a lot of things in the last month. I've given up soda entirely. I drink a lot of ice tea and water. I've started eating salad for lunch every day with plenty of good stuff in it. I use one of those spray viniagrettes for flavoring. I don't use any salad dressing that contains bad fats any more. I eat fruit and yogurt. Because of a blood disorder I have where I store iron, I eat a lot of vegetarian meals and chicken is my other favorite. I don't really eat red meat much any more. I'm working out. Cardio and core exercises and I feel it, wow do I feel it! But it's all good. Unfortunately, I can't use my left arm very well and can only lift 5 pounds, but again, my personal trainer (who happens to also be my son who is a professional) works around that. All in all, my intention is to get back to where I was before this all started with the fall.
I'm not a kid any more. Everything I do is really hard work, but you know, I've done it before and I can do it again.
The good part is that because of all these changes, giving up soda, eating more balanced and nutritious meals, working out 4-5 times per week, I am just feeling stronger.
Okay, so what was I talking about. I know I don't spend a lot of time here, but I stay in touch with many people. I miss this. You might hear more from me this week because it is spring break.
Best thing is, I'm alive, getting healthy and my family is all good as are my dogs and my cat. How are you?
