The first episode of season two of True Blood opens at the same point where season one ended. Sookie and Tara walk the inebriated dectective Andy Bellfleur to his car; he opens the door to find a naked dead woman in the backseat of his car, with her heart torn out. It turns out the dead woman is a black lady who called herself an "exorcist." She is a con artist whom Tara had paid to have demons exorcised from herself and her mother.
Meanwhile Jason, Sookie's brother, has joined up with a religious group with the sun as their symbol, who are vampire haters. Meanwhile, Lafayette, the cook at Merlot's is missing. No one is aware he and other people who have done harm to vampires are being held captive in an underground dungeon by Eric the 1,000 year old vampire. The prisoners are chained to some medieval looking wheel and forced to walk around and around.
Meanwhile, Tara is living with her rescuer, Mary Ann, a woman who unknown to Tara, is a shape shifter who met Sam Merlot, also a shape shifter, when he was 17 and stealing from her house. He ran away, but she has found him, and there is something very sinister about her.
Sookie is looking old and tired in the first half of season one, and in one scene she actually wore something besides a micro-mini and and revealing top. She finds out that Bill has Jessica, a teenage vampire living with him, but they declare their love for each other.
I noticed the southern accents slipped a bit--one character pronounced "brought" as "brot" whereas southerners say "brawt." A couple of slips like that, but waiting for episode two. susil
