I passed a TV in an office window this morning and without benefit of sound, saw Joran Van de Sloot being handcuffed--I assume he's been captured after fleeing Peru, for questioning in a young woman's death--again. Natalie Holloway's mother must feel vindicated that this punk was responsible for her daughter's death, and has (presumably) murdered another girl. What was this guy thinking? That he got away with it once so why not do it again? He has sabotaged himself.

Speaking of sabotage, there's a rumor going around about the ongoing oil spill. Dick Cheney owns Halliburton, one of the firms involved in this mess, and the rumor goes he somehow sabotaged the oil drilling equipment so it would fail and make Obama look bad, like it's Obama's 9/11 and his weak response will look bad for him and the Democrats, etc.

There are a multitude of lawsuits under way that will drain BP dry. Then they'll holler bankruptcy and get out of obligations.
There are all kinds of rumors. The national media says the oil is washing up on the Mississippi Coast, but the Mississippi media says the beaches are clean. Peak tourist season is upon us and people are cancelling conventions, hotel reservations, etc.--it's gonna be a hard sell and businesses are gonna suffer, no doubt of it. But for sure oil has washed up on Horn Island and other barrier islands.

Every day BP has full page ads in the newspaper with the headline "We're going to make it right." No they're not, there is no way they can. Stuffing the spewing oil vent with tennis balls and old tires(?? hasn't worked. I hear that BP has an Internet site asking for suggestions on how to stop it. How disgusting. I say a teeny nuclear warhead needs to be detonated in the spew pipe. That would stop it for good. Better that than months of a continuing oil volcano.
