The media has been reporting that a woman gave birth to 8--EIGHT--infants. That's a litter, and it is unconscionable. The doctor, along with his client oughta have their heads examined, literally.
Someone said today she already has six children and lives in a two bedroom apt. with her parents. Her thought processes are screwy to want more children. Was she given psychological testing? Why would any doctor participate and allow this to happen?
Before any physician assisted in vitro procedures are done that could result in multiple births, a social worker should assess the client's mental state and ability to pay for the enormous cost of care for these infants.
A report on NPR says it will cost taxpayers millions to get these infants from the prenatal state to maturity. Just because someone CAN have a baby is no reason to have one
(or a litter) when others will have to foot the bill.
I've always said people oughta have to get a license to have children.
Reproduce yourself and quit. Adopt. Just stop pumping out babies. It brings to mind the Duggar family seen on TLC--the wife just had her 18th baby. As Groucho Marx said to a guest who had a bunch of kids "I like my cigar too, but I take it out of my mouth once in a while." Get the picture? Get a hobby Mr. Duggar.
