I heard Dr. Rick Deshazo from the University Medical Center of Mississippi say that long term studies have shown that gingko biloba does not have any effect on memory improvement or lessen onset of dementia or Alzheimer's. In an attempt to be funny, he kept calling gingko biloba "gingko bil-boa."

I also heard that niacin was effective for lowering cholesterol, so I was at a Walmart looking for some a few days ago. At the end of the vitamins and supplement row was a blood pressure monitor. You sit in the seat, put your bare arm in the cuff, push a button to start, and the machine will take your blood pressure and pulse.

An attractive middle aged woman went to the machine and took off her coat. Two old geezers were seated on a bench nearby waiting for prescriptions, and looking her way. After she took off her coat, she started to unbutton a sweater she had on over a blouse. Noting the geezers, she put on a show. She slowly unbuttoned each button and pulled the sweater open, like "Ta-Da!"

Then she pulled off one sleeve of the sweater, like peeling off a glove, and tapped her bottom with it. Geezers mesmerized. Then she slowly peeled off the other arm of the sweater and slapped it against her bottom. She was humming "Hey Big Spender." Geezers grinning from ear to ear. Me and everybody else burst out laughing. How refreshing to be laughing out loud. An old lady looking for laxatives sniffed "She must be one of those people from New Orleans." That or one of those rare people who can make you laugh, even in a Walmart drugstore.
