I did absolutely nothing this Wednesday except fiddle f*rt around. Did one load of laundry, cooked dinner (drat on cooking--it messes up the stove), washed the dishes, napped. I have enjoyed retirement immensely!
Tonight watched Taxi Driver--you know the one, where Robert DeNiro shoots up a bunch of pimps and low lifes to save the pre- pubescent Jodi Foster from a life of prostitution. Then was watching Deal Or No Deal where a contestant was offered $10,000 if she'd eat five worms. So this lovely vegetarian lady eats them like they were candy--hey $10,000 is nothing to sneeze at, y'know.
Just as the last few minutes were winding down on her Deal, and I almost had the crossword finished, the frickin lights went out. I wrote yesterday about my third world utilities--water main being torn up, then tonight Bingo! Lights flickered and went out. A piddly little rainstorm came up, and out they went.
I've enjoyed living in the country, but if I had it to do over, I might have moved into town instead. Then again--Nah, I'm country through and through. I'd rather die than live sandwiched between people in an apartment building. I'm here on my little piece of Earth and intend to stay as long as fate will let me. Susil
