Life in 1970

I do believe this came from Augusta, a few days ago. She had listed some of the important events that occurred in her year of birth, and I commented that I might try it, too. Well, I see we could have afforded to live in those days; also, we were at war (as we are today! Will we ever learn?) Well, after all the work I did in looking up the information, I find it was on Blogthings! Well, some of the things Blogthings didn't mention, I've left in:

Wow! You have done a good job here I was working in Tooting Broadway (London) in a boutique named Chelsea girl. Another girl who worked there with me was an ardent fan of Jimmi Hendrix and she wore an arm band for about 6 weeks in mourning for him[HEART.It's frightening, to think that I'm old enough to be the 'mother' of all those stars you mentioned . . . . . .

.36 for a gallon of gas???!!! No way! I love reading this stuff. It's so much fun! I couldn't believe how cheap everything was. In 1970, I was 7 years old.

Wow! What a great trip down memory lane! I remember all of these things, except I too have no clue who Charles Ruggles is. I was 17 years old when you were born.

These things always depress me. I did enjoy the "hippy" days of southern California, especially the girls in mini-skirts!

I was paying $145.00 for my apartment in 1972. It must have been nicer than average.

The cost of gasoline and eggs--as well as a house, but the wages reflected that! Oh, a little of both eras would be nice!
