Life is good, despite things that go awry. Last Spring, vandals hired by my Village uprooted and hauled away the beautiful hedgerow that formed a boundary between our property and some vacant land to the South. They left three trees, one with a family of squirrel and a bird feeder on it. A few weeks later there came a severe windstorm, which broke the squirrel's tree in half and dumped their home and Winter supplies on the ground. The next day at 6A.M. The whole family of squirrels was bustling about, collecting nest parts to assemble in the next tree West, just out of sight. They scrambled to carry all the bits of nest and Winter food up to Mom & Pop squirrel and had things cost enough to sleep in. The rest of the day and the next day, they collected all their bits of food, and and are safely ensconced in their new home. Naturally, the condo board has left the tree where it fell. We have our 5th new management company in 19 years, who have upped to pass on the cleanup to the (now we are 3) Condo Board. Meanwhile, my emergency exit is blocked, so my walker and I have one exit. The squirrels think the sowed tree is a playground. My older sis in in ICU with Pneumonia and a torso covered with shingles. Her Multiple Myeloma is responding well to Chemo. Sleep is medicated half out of her mind, but improving.. in desperAtion I bought a larger coffee cup. Self defense. As for Joy, we I went to the Orchid Show at Botanic garden! Cheers, Stella
