Our Daughter married a great guy back in 1996. We all went to Las Vegas for the wedding, family and friends came out and it was a great time.
The "Kids" have not really had a vacation since. They have gone away for a weekend, but nothing special.
This year, they decided to do something a little special for their self.
Jacksonville began running Carnival cruises last year and they decided they were going to take to the SEAS!!
So Pat and I got to drive them to the port, it is only like a 10 minute drive. We dropped them off at about 11am, and told them we would come back around 4 when the boat was leaving.
There is a huge bridge in town called the Dames Point Bridge that the boat has to go under. There is a little park right under the bridge and a good place to take some photos.
Here is a view of the bridge from the bottom,,
While there we saw all kinds of things, like a Tug Boat or two,
Some wildlife, Sea Gulls, a few Pelicans (my favorite) and some Dolphins swimming up the river against the outgoing tide, they feed that way the fish get pulled out and they are there to do some fishing,,,
Finally the boat came around the bend and here is a shot of where the Daughter said she would be so we could find her, by the stack.
Can't see her?? Here is a closeup,
The highlight of the trip after about 10 minutes into the cruise was when they had to clear under the bridge. Here is a short video of the cheering when they made it. (The acoustics are great under the bridge!)
They will be back Thursday morning with plenty of stories I am sure.
