Jerry Jones, owner of Cowboy Stadium, must think the gods are plotting against him. First, we get an ice storm that just won't melt because the temperature has yet to make it out of the 20's since Sunday.
Then last night, in spite of the weatherman predicting a "dusting of snow" overnight, we awakened this morning to six inches and its still coming down.
The "brilliant" prognosticating gurus who call themselves meteorologists; and in Dallas I loose that term very, very loosely, have now revised their forecast to about nine inches total.Â
Well, no kidding!! That just adds insult to injury for those trying to fly in for Super Bowl Sunday, many of whom will be in private corporate jets. The two airports where most of the private planes land are the airport in Addison as well as Love Field.Â
At the moment both are closed, as crews try to clear the runways, which is not easy, as it continues to snow. DFW somehow dodged a lot of the snow that everyone else seems to have gotten, so their incoming flights can land. But that will only be those who are flying in commercially. Fans who may be planning on driving can expect bad roads just about anywhere in Texas right now as well as in all points northeast.
The Houston and Galveston area got an ice storm last night, so that shuts those people down and closes their airports.
Merchants are ringing their hands over lost revenue as Super Bowl partiers have been slow to arrive and now may be delayed another day.
The temperature is finally supposed to reach 33 tomorrow; we shall see. It was originally forecast to get above freezing today.
Bevan tried to get Holly to work today for a special meeting; but I just got a call that they are turning around and coming back home. No one at her office has been able to make it to the office. One car is stuck; another gentleman also turned around, returning home.Â
And to think I moved to Dallas to get away from these kinds of winters!!
