Namely Speaking!

I just cannot believe some of ridiculous names that celebrities come up with for their children.

Glamour model Jordan and her husband, former pop star Peter Andre, have named their baby daughter Princess Tiaamii.

Tiaamii - pronounced tee-ah-me - is taken from the names of Andre's mother Thea and Jordan's mother Amy.  Who knows where Princess came from!  Maybe they plan on her marrying royalty, and they wanted to give her a one-up.

But I have to tell you!  I feel for these kids when they start to school.  Some of them are going to be laughed right off the playground.

Take a look at this list.  Some of these names are beyond unbelievable.

I think even middle-class parents choose odd names for their children these days, maybe not as odd as these, but working on it.

You are so right. Bevan's brother named his little girl Ruby Geneva. I am just not ready for reverting back to names like "Ruby" and "Hazel." My husband wanted to name our son, which we never had, "Gunner." I said, "Absolutely not!" Now, I actually know a couple of little boys who are named that.

I'm not one to say anything but calling a girl Bailey could call for a head exam! KIDDING!
What's wrong with Tallulah--it is a well honored traditional Southern Belle name--and Apple has sort of grown on me
I just feel sorry for the kids as they go through school--Moxie and Zolten?????????

Although I am now of course used to it, it was not my choice if I had been given a say-so, which I wasn't, naturally! Talluluh, for me, has connotations associated with the '30's. I don't have as much problem with "Apple" as some of these others, and I actually kind of like "Shiloh."

Oddly enough, the name "Rocket" has been around for some time! Moon Unit is no spring chicken either, although the name is unique as far as I know. But to call her Moon isn't really all that odd. I think my "favorite" is still Blanket. Maybe that's because daddy was a nutcase-perv.

I have to admit "Blanket" ranks right up there as a ridiculous name for a child.

I actually think celebrities try to outdo one another when it comes to picking these names. Unfortunately, that poor child is stuck with it.
