Bringing Down the House

This is not a very good picture of my grandchildren; but I wanted to show off my grandson, since I don't have many pictures of him.  Now, if he would only smile!!

This is my sweet friend, Alex, who lost her husband in Hawaii three months ago.  This is her first public appearance.  She sang last night with the band with which she has performed many times in the past at a benefit to raise money for people in need of free legal services.
I was fortunate enough to be there.  She was gorgeous, talented, vibrant, and she brought the house down.  She asked me to say a prayer for her just before she went on stage that she could get through the set; I told her that I had confidence in her, and that I didn't need to.  I was right.

Oh I remember that stage very well. I'll bet I can find pictures of my two with the same expression. LOL! Alex is a beautiful lady and her courage and determination are evident. She is lucky to have you as a friend.

All boys go through that. He's got to show off how "grown-up" he is. Kenzie and Bailey are just a couple of clowns. Alex is such a sweet person. She is such a good friend to me. Many people probably find our friendship unusual because she is the age of my daughters; but she is like another daughter to me. We have bonded even more since she lost her husband because I have such a tender heart, and I always ache for those in pain.

Hope time will improve grandson's outlook. Great photo of your friend. She is fighting the good fight -- been there. Give her our best.

I will indeed tell you that you send your best. Yes, she is fighting the good fight. Trying so hard to get on with her life; yet, she tells me that sometimes the pain is so devastating that she can hardly bear it. Grandson is just at that age when he has to be all macho. He does smile when no one is looking. LOL

Looks like your grandson is at THAT age--no smiles for the camera EVER!! Plus he has to put up with 2 girls UGH--what more can you ask of him?!?!?

You are so right, Martin. God forbid that anyone should catch him smiling. He'll outgrow it!
