Saturday was Bailey's fourteenth birthday. It's so hard for me to believe that she can be that age. I mentioned to Holly the other day that it scares me to think she will be going away to college in just four years; Holly replied that it scared her more to think that she would be driving in just two years.
Bevan, who is always the one to want to save a dollar when it comes to anything but his golfing, decided that she didn't need a car. However, Holly, who makes the money in the family, nixed that idea ,stating that she would have a car.
Then, he said she could have their old SUV, which they purchased when Bailey was two years old. She nixed that idea also, stating that she was not going to put her in a car that was nearly as old as Bailey.
Instead, she said that she was going to buy her a small Humvee. "If she has a wreck or rolls one of those, she has about 4,000 pounds of protection surrounding her," she said.
The can be customized to be really cute "kid" SUV's.
This from the kid who wanted and got a Mustang convertible for her 16th birthday. Â
My, how our attitudes change when we become adults!! I do have to admit, however, that driving in Dallas is a whole lot different than driving in Yukon, Oklahoma, where Holly went to high school. Â
I wouldn't put her in a convertible in Dallas either.
