Enough is Enough

Enough is Enough!  Saying he wanted to put to rest once and for all the questions regarding whether President Obama was actually born in The Aloha State, the new governor of Hawaii stated that he plans to release additional information to confirm that the President was indeed born in the 51st state on August 4,  1961.
In spite of the fact that the President released a Certificate of Live Birth that was authenticated and even accepted as proof by Fox News as well as repeated statements by officials in Hawaii that his birth certificate is on file in Hawaii's vital records department,  a certain segment continued to demand to see the actual birth certificate.
Neil Abercrombie, a Democrat who knew Obama's parents, has asked the Hawaii's attorney general and health department if more records can be made public to stifle persistent false allegations that the president is not a natural-born citizen of the United States, according to the New York Times and The Hill newspaper.
To become president, an individual must have been born in the United States and be at least 35 years old.
"It's an insult to his mother and to his father, and I knew his mother and father; they were my friends, " the exasperated governor told the Times in a phone interview.
"It's an emotional insult. It is disrespectful to the president. It is disrespectful to the office. . . . Let's put this particular canard to rest."

Abercrombie, who served 22 seasons in the House of Representatives before being elected governor in November, stated  he wanted to put the "birthers" in their proper light by showing that they have a political agenda "not worthy of any good American."

The President's parents are both deceased.  His father was born in Kenya and his mother was born in Kansas.
He and his family are spending the holidays on the island of Oahu.

What will it be next, I wonder?

I'm sure they will come up with something. You should see the firestorm this stirred up over on Blogster. It has generated over 80 comments all ready. I'm just sitting back letting them fight it out. The "birthers" are never going to believe anything. They yell "conspiracy" even when confronted with fact.

I know a "birther." This person is off center, to say the least. The person also believes the Earth (and the Universe) is less than 8,000 years old, that science is a hoax, that the flood of Noah killed of the dinosaurs, that UFOs came to help the Egyptians build the pyramids, and that I am nuts for believing my cats have souls. Nevertheless, I still talk to this person... mostly because I have been intrigued by morons for most of my life and I consider it 'research.'

The whole thing is very much like a tempest in a teapot.

I'm afraid so, and there are some who wish to continue being the "tempest", no matter what. Hang the truth!!

The issue is settled already.

It was never an issue, at least not to me.
