I didn't realize how long it has been since my last post on this blog. Guess it was left behind in the parade of experiences the last week or so.
I had surgery on my left arm again. The growth that magically appeared there just before our cruise turned out to be cancer and had to be removed on Monday afternoon.
I am bandaged up a bit, but will take it off for showering this morning. If it looks good, will use a type of band aide to cover it until it heals.
Have to go back in a couple of weeks to have the stitches removed. Should have a beautiful scar. Sure beats a tattoo for me.
We shall be attending a public meeting of the State Teachers Retirement System tomorrow. Hopefully, we shall impact their decision regarding purchasing power for those who have been retired many years and are still being paid in 1980 dollars.
Most of the public does not understand that a considerable percentage of the retirement cost for teachers comes from teacher contributions plus investment of same.
As a result, this is not all tax monies. Rather it is the accumulation of 25 to 40 years of individual retirement contributions to the fund plus its investment earnings.
Out Heritage Park choir begins anew next week. For sure we will be doing some show tunes. (Rumor has it that we shall do some music from Oliver.)
Yea! My income taxes are done. The feds got to us for a considerable amount, but the State of California owes us monies. (This is a result of our move to Nevada.)
Actually, it is almost a wash. One pays the other. Will have to increase my donations to the feds this year. Otherwise will have to write another check in 2009.
Oh well! You know about death and taxes don't you?
Y'all take care hear?
