I haven't been on this blog in a while. Wonder where I have been?

We have been having thunder storms in Reno the past week. There was not as much thunder yesterday, but we did have a cloud burst in the late after noon.

We must have had more rain in the later evening because the sidewalk is wet now at three am. However, the sky is pretty clear and I can see the stars.

Construction on our courtyard will start on the sixteenth of this month and relatives from Australia will land at LAX on the eighteenth. Hopefully, their sojourns at Disney Land and Yosemite will give us time to complete the job and their visit with us in Reno will not be a bust.

The courtyard project will include zero landscaping (tearing out the lawn and replacing it with gravel and plants, using drip irrigation rather than sprinklers). Sure hope we are doing what is right for the environment and for the lack of water available.

The melting snow pack has filled the rivers, but Stampede and Boca (Lakes that are the major source of water for Reno) are no where near normal.

Reno, like other cities, is in trouble financially. Casinos are going broke left and right and the ones that are still solvent are laying off workers and cutting back food services and other amenities.

Gambling is the major source of tax revenues for Nevada and Indian Casinos in California and the depressed economy have raised havoc with the normalcy here. We are truly lucky to be able to build at this time and provide jobs for at least a few unemployed.

Sleep is catching up to me, so guess I shall go back to bed. Y'all take care hear?
