Technocalyps: Part 1: Trans-human

Artist and filmmaker Frank Theys examines the latest findings in genetics, robotics, artificial intelligence, bionics and nanotechnology, shedding light on their common aim: to exceed human limitations and create higher, "transhuman" forms of life.

2006 NR 52m

3.5 stars (Dale-4, David-3). I thought this was a cool ride. It made me think. It raised a lot of interesting questions for me. Some of the images might not be suited for kids or the squeamish. Lots of very thought provoking speculation about what the future could be for humankind. Not bad at all if you keep in mind that the "experts' are not listed. That is why we have ethics in Science, so that nano-bots don't go crazy! Maybe we would be farther along without those pesky ethics but how far can we really get without them??

When I was a kid, my mom only took us to Disney movies. The first non-Disney movie I ever saw was Jerry Lewis in The Bell Boy. I'll never forget it.

I have so many documentaries on my list, and I'm usually very glad I watched them. This reminds me I need to get back to watching.

I have a full Netflix queue plus a word document with about 1000 other movie names, actor names, director names etc. I'm going through all of Jerry Lewis films and adding them to my queue....crazy!!
