The Golden Age of Comedy

When television was in its infancy, families gathered around their sets to laugh at the hilarious antics of Lucille Ball, Groucho Marx, Milton Berle and other talented comedians. This collection of sketches captures the magic of the golden age of comedy, showcasing unforgettable moments with TV pioneers including George Burns and Gracie Allen, Martin and Lewis, Bob Hope, Jack Benny, Sid Caesar, Steve Allen, Abbott and Costello and many others.

1955 NR 4 discs

2 stars. Let me say that our score really reflects the quality of the edit job. You could barely hear the jokes & you could barely see what was going on.

even here they were well known, as a kid loved them in the movies and as grew up still looked for them.
when George Burns died at 100 , I reckon Bob Hope said he can't do that to me, then went on to being equal when he got to a 100 as well

love the older comedians. They really knew how to make you laugh.

Too bad they didn't do a better job. I'm old enough that some of those comedians were still on TV with their regular shows when I was a little kid, but I didn't see much of them, and wish I'd paid more attention. What do kids know, though? I probably wouldn't have appreciated their humor.
