Capote

The toast of New York City society after penning Breakfast at Tiffany's, flamboyant writer Truman Capote finds himself in a dance with the devil while researching the Clutter family murders for his masterwork, In Cold Blood.

2005 R 114 minutes

4.25 stars (Dale-4.5, David-4). Great acting. I was absolutely blown away by Phillip Seymour Hoffmans portrayal of Truman Capote. Was familiar with the story and murders so it was interesting to see another side of it.

I'm fascinated by Truman Capote, and have seen both movies (Infamous and Capote). Phillip Seymour Hoffman should have gotten an Oscar for that performance because he's always seemed like a fairly large guy, but did a good job portraying little wimpy Truman Capote. I'll never forget that scene where he does this little spin to show off his outfit.

He has been one of my favorite actors for years - I didn't like him as the obnoxious rich kid in Scent of a Woman, but after that he grew on me.

Very small part - at the end where they were having that trial or whatever it was where Al Pacino got to do his classic rage scene (one trick pony is our Al).

He was in Scent of a Woman??? I'll have to rent that again and see. Loved that show. Philip did an amazing job in this film & I agree I love his little turn!
