My dear little sister is on her way to the emergency room. She has not been herself for a while, and is now having trouble swallowing. She had diareah all day yesterday and today lost all her medicine after breakfast. Our dear Cheryl, who is her nurse took her to the emergency room just now. I will be ready at one p.m. to go and take her place for a while. We are sure the doctor will put her in the hospital for a few days. She is getting smaller each week and I don't believe I will have my little sister too much longer.

She is ready to go and last week stated that she didn't know why she had to go on living. She has had so many trials in her life, but has handled them with such grace. She was born with a deformed head and has been legally blind all her life. The prognosis for her was that she wouldn't live to be past 5 - but she sure fooled the doctors. Outlived all of them.!! Finished college in 3 1/2 years and taught in public school for maybe 7 years. She then opened her own nursery school and kindergarten and added first grade later. Her speciality was "special" children. She had a wonderful reputation and had children sent to her from various places in the world, when they came to the medical center here in HOuston. She sold her school after many many years- 23 something, and them moved her special class to a church school until she retired. No one I know could have done what she did with all her various infirmaties. To this day she is cheerful and tries to make all of us happy, who are around her.
