LIfe with my dear sister last night reminded me of the last months of my dear husbands' life. She could not get up off the commode - the $1704 one- and I couldn't lift her, so she crawled from the bath room on her knees to her bed in the next room. It took both of us and about 25 minutes to get her legs on her bed.

I could cry my eyes out, if it would help - but try to just stand up and give her my love. I had just spent $700 on her bathroom that day, thinking we could make it where she could be independent. Oh, dear!! What will happen next.

She was pretty low, when I said goodnight. And I have left her asleep this a.m. Got her dog up and put her out. We had hoped to find someone or two to come in and help her. Don't know where to start except at an agency and just hate to do that. j Wish I knew 2 or three nice ladies, who loved oldsters and needed a little extra money. About 3500 worth a month.

As one of our tv commentators said "it's hell to be old and pore ( as he pronounced it.)

'Nuff groaning and moaning - now for the happy stuff. Son John is home from Europe again and will be surprised to see the bath room completed except for painting - the painters come on Monday.
