Gawd, they are so thick-headed. Why am I not surprised that your plans didn't turn out as intended when left in their incompetant hands.
Now that's how the Garfield "I hate Mondays" routine *should* be written!
Best of luck with the interview! I hope they think you're the gal for the job, and worth the extra 5K - and then some!
Great post, and a brave one at that! So many of us like to keep our flaws buried in the back of our closets, rather than stare them straight in the face or reveal them to an audience of perfect strangers.
It's interesting because just moments before I sat down to read this, I noticed an empty wine glass on the counter, and couldn't help but think back to a time when I was a teenager and used to start partying only hours after waking up. (Not quite *this* early in the morning at 8:45 am... but when you wake up at noon and start partying by 3... it's the same difference.) Your words above about alcoholism were almost the same that rang through my mind this morning. I don't need it, crave it, or abuse it... but I think there's a side of me that probably could.
Great post. That's too funny.... and scary! Reminds me of something my sister recently said about the small community where we grew up - and where she still lives. "People in this town are STUPID! Which makes me wonder, how stupid am I, but just don't realize it?
Those are cute!
You make some good points... it is a scary thought indeed.
That's beautiful!
Good for you!!! Congrats! Running 5k is no small feat! I took a running clinic earlier this summer, and for our last session we ran for 30 minutes, which measured out to about 5k, I believe. I thought I was gonna die by the end... but so proud of myself that I didn't.
Beautiful pictures!
Oh my goodness! That is SOOO amazing! When we watch unfortunate situations unfold in our lives, we just always have to have faith that things will turn out as they're meant to. I'm SO happy for you!
I hope your headache passes and that it's nothing serious. Stay well.
I LOVE thrift stores!! Glad your kids have never outgrown them! A friend of mine just had her first child, and before the baby was born, she has more clothes than I do... *all* of it brand name. They even special ordered baby-size Nike shocks. Good grief!
If you love what you do, it's worth the pay cut... if you step out on a limb and follow your heart first, the money will eventually follow. I'm sure of it! Sounds like a great place to work -- best of luck!
