Yesterday, Ray and I spent most of the day in the center of the village. It was our big annual holiday festival. It means getting to dress up in traditional Victorian clothes. Here is a picture of the costume I wore for last year's festival. I had pretty much the same thing this year, though, I also had more traditionally patterned pants.

The festival is loads of fun. Twelve local fire departments sent decorated trucks to participate in our holiday parade to bring in Santa. We also had a horse-drawn hay-ride. There were more than thirty vendors and crafters selling wares. Three boy scout groups and two girl scout groups sand and gave out treats, the local fire department sold treats, two local churches provided choirs and bell performances, and we had some local Victorian-era homes open for tours. We also had a guy doing balloon sculpture and a local teen band playing all sorts of music.
It was really a lot of fun. It was also a lot of work, but it was really so worth it. We estimate that we had about 5,000 people come through and participate between the hours of 3:00 and 8:00 pm, which is pretty good when you consider we only have about 2,000 people living in Pascoag proper.
