I hope you have a great time at the banquet. It is always a shame that the photographers never seem to get into any of the pictures. I know what you mean about the hostility at the other site. It is so much smoother over hear. I am defintiely going to miss Fredo. I hope he opts for it to be a short break and returns soon.
Things are going pretty well. Ray is doing totally awesome, which is wonderful. He is just about back to the way he was before the stroke (only with 25 lbs less of him, which is good). I am trying to settle back into worrying/stressing less.
I really thought it was amazing, too!
I know that she had been in the hospital for some time recently, but I am still really surprised by her passing. I guess I just didn't realize how ill she has been. On an eerie note, I am just finishing up a new biography of Cleopatra that has come out to rave reviews. The whole time I have been reading it, I have been thinking about Liz Taylor in the movie.
That is scary! In RI, the communities have to provide layoff notices prior to March 1 for the next school year. It is a silly rule since the districts really have no strong grasp on what their local and state appropriations will be like until late June. The result is the districts end up laying off far more than they actually have to and reinstating them before the start of the school year.
A few years ago, my town laid of 76 (and we are a small town with 3 elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school) teachers. All of them were reinstated before the start of the school year, minus those who retired and were not replaced. Last year was a lower number, but the same thing happened.
I think this year's number was pretty miniscule, but all of the communities (and the state) are facing major shortfalls. Providence is at more than 100 million, and you probably saw that all of the teachers (some 1900) were dismissed. They are proposing 3 school closure. It is going to be bad.
I think your reasons for all of this happening are dead on, and it is so sad.
Thanks, Fredo!
I have never heard of this, which is surprising when you consider all the cast members. I will have to see if I can get my hands on it.
You were much nicer to this film than the reviews I have read, but I figure you are closer to the mark. i think the intent of the film is summed up in your last paragraph.
I so can't wait to see this one! You know me and my superheroes! I do agree with Solitaire on Will Ferrell, though. I tend to not like most of the things that he is in.
YAY! You passed!
Mold can definitely make you feel better. I hope you recover quickly! Thanks for the scoop on Fredo's blog. I thought it was just me.
I love this one!
I love the picture. It is perfect for a Sunday afternoon. I am back on a diet, too! So far, so good. I have gotten about halfway to my goal weight again.
I thought this one was pretty fun, too.
I watched this a few weeks back. It was pretty shocking to see how much the government is really subsidizing corn that is really not needed. The idea of putting corn in stuff for no reason, considering the health troubles involved, is frightening.
