I Did Something to My Monitor

I am not sure what I did to my laptop. It still works, but there seems t obe some sort of issues with the screen. Everything is stretched out for some reason. I checked out the resolution, and it seems to be ok, but everything now appears significantly wider than normal. I spent about an hour today trying to sort it out, but I am at a total loss.

The good news is that everything still technically works, and I can use the laptop, but it is a little frustrating all the same. Everything is just a little off because of the warping that it is causing.

well, thought that It was me that this is happening.
Still having the same problems as you mentioned stretch out and very wide.
I think that this has to do with our XP.
The other thing is every now and then wen I x something out, something
happen as it goes on nd on and on and on.Had to shut the puter down.
Restart it.I think most of our problems is with the XP.
Let me know if you get out of this.Having this for quite some time.

With the wide displays these days, you have to select a resolution where the number of pixels in the width is much higher than the height, but if it was working and suddenly "broke" without anyone changing the resolution setting, then it's puzzling. When it's set to the LCD panel's native resolution, then it's stretched now? Did you use it with a projector?

Does the laptop register two monitors attached? That could do it.

Is this a Dell with Presentation Mode that you connected to an external monitor? Turn that off and manually reset the resolution to match the projector.

What happens if you change the resolution? Does it change like it should?
