I usually don't go too much into entertainment news, but I feel the need to jump up on it. Am I the only one who thinks this is part of the need to tear this poor girl down? I don't see the pcitures as being anything from tasteful and pretty average for Annie Lebovitz.
It irks me because it is like they want this poor girl to fail like so many other teen celebrities that have come before her. They jump on the smallest little detail to point out that she is heading that way. The thing that really worries me, and I say this as someone who works with teens, is that this can lead to a self-fulfilling prophecy. Sometimes, our young people live down to our expectations we place upon them.
I don't see why this has to be showing up on every media source. Who cares! Can't we just be supportive of a young person who has done a wonderful job being a role model for our kids? Why do we have to tear down our kids' heroes? It is a sick thing that has happened with our society that seems to find more pleasure in destroying our "idols" rather than sitting back and enjoying them for the talents they offer us. I am ashamed of the society we have become.
