Nora Sinclair is what they call a black widow. She has the ability to attract the attention of wealthy men and get them to fall in love with her. Unfortunately, just as they propose to or marry her, she gives them one of her "special" omelettes. Let's just say, her dinners are to die for.
Unfortunately, she catches the attention of the FBI as she repeatedly transfers large amounts of funds to offshore accounts, which are supposed to allow her to hide evidence of them. Instead, the anti-terrorism section gets a red flag and John O'Hara is assigned to the case. He takes on the role of an insurance adjustor who is investigating the death of her most recent fiance.
Thus begins a case of cat and mouse to see if he can get the evidence he needs to stop her spree of murders before she figures who and what he really is.
Nora is such an interesting character. I found myself cheering her on and feeling so much compassion for her at times even though I knew that she had the ability to kill men in such a slow and painful way just so she can get her claws on their money.
The writing is strong and allows O'Hara and Nora to do an exciting dance as they weave their way through time to a conclusion that left me cheering!
