Ray and I were invited to join one of the town council women at a fundraiser dinner for the town Democratic Party. It was a simple pasta and meatball dinner, but it was a lot of fun.

I have actually gotten to be a good friend of this councilwoman. She is the liaison for the capital campaign committee for the new library, which opens tomorrow. She and another member of the committee, who is a former councilwoman who also serves on the juvenile hearing board with me, have been having little talks about my future involvement with town government.

Since I was in high school, I really wanted to show my civic responsibility by getting involved in various committees and board to help make the town I live in a better place. I have definitely been doing that since moving to Burrillville. I defintiely plan on continuing along that vein.

So, I may have a little more detail to share with you in this area down the road. It is nothing definite yet, but there is a lot of discussion going on.
