So, you all know about the troubles I had with losing my phone and getting a new one. Well, I really do like the new one I ended up getting. In fact, I liked it even more than the original so in the long run the whole thing worked out nicely.
A few days after I ended up with it, I was in the staff lounge doing the lunch thing when I dropped the phone on the floor. It must have landed just right because the back cover popped right off and I watched the battery slide away along the floor. I got up and put the batter in and the cover back on, but there still seemed to be a problem because it did not look they was anything wrong even though it wasn't working. I was a little worried, but I figured I would ask the kids in the after-school center for some advice.
Well, that ended up working out just right. Once they started coming in, I asked two of the girls to come over. They are in the ninth grade and addicts of the phone. They started laughing hysterically when I was finished. I asked them what was wrong, and they asked me if I had turned the phone on after putting the battery.
I said that I did not think the phone had an on/off switch because my previous phone didn't. That actually only made them laugh even harder. One of them picked up my phone and popped it open to make sure I put the battery in right and closed it again. She than flipped it back over. She then pressed the "Stop" button and said "Presto-chango" when the chime indicating that my phone had come to life sounded. They started laughing again and headed off to sit at a couple of the computers.
I figured I would share this story because some of you think I am a major techie. Well, apparently, I still have a long way to go before I am a Master of Technology.
