I hope no one has been worrying too much. I know that I have been unusually quiet in the blogosphere lately. In reality, it was mostly because I was on vacation. The weather was beautiful(upper 70s with low humidity) all week, and I just didn't have it in me to spend a ton of time on the computer. So, after working on the stuff I needed to do for my class, I tended to log off my computer and do other things. I just wanted to get away from the computer in general.
In all honesty, I have been really feeling burned out the last month or so. I just think that it was a lot of things that I had been involved with either through committees or work coming to a head. The good news is that a lot of that is coming to an end so I should be back to my cheery and often blogging self.
The vacation itself was really wonderful. It started with my having to get over a head cold, but that was OK. It was not too bad, honestly. It was mostly an annoyance, and getting a chance to sit out on the deck in the warm sun made it all fade away quickly.
I did some of my usual reading, but it was all fun stuff ... nothing that could be considered even remotely work related.
I did take some time to clean up my desk at home. It had been sorta piling up with this and that since I don't seem to jump on it nearly as often as I used to. My new exercize routine means that I don't have time to jump on that computer in the morning, and I prefer to use my laptop to do stuff in the evening so I can sit with Ray and the girls. Night time is family time.
I did take one day to do something that I always wanted to do. I sat down with all three of the movies from The Lord of the Rings trilogy and watched them straight through. It literally did take all day. I will go into the reason why I spent a whole day in the house in a later blog.
All-in-all, it was a pretty good, relaxing vacation. It sorta ended with a bang, but, otherwise, I can't complain.
