I just finished watching President Bush's farewell address to the nation. I watched it on Youtube as I couldn't bare to watch it on television when it aired. I'm not ready for this good man to leave. If you mine my blogs you'll observe that I haven't always agreed with the President. Sometimes I disagreed vehemently with him. All the while I felt he was doing what he thought was best for our nation and her people.
Never have I seen a President so disrespected, belittled, maligned, mocked and obstructed. It was shameful and embarrassing.
It seems like I have argued over politics since Clinton, sometimes almost violently. Things changed when he was elected President. We decided character didn't matter. Lies could be told under oath if it was only about sex. We seemed to say that decorum and honor were things of the past. Bill Clinton is and was a dishonorable man.
There are people now, spiteful little people, that say that George W. Bush should be tried as a war criminal. Payback baby, for impeaching Clinton. Anyone with a brain larger than a gnat knows G.W. is no war criminal but they probably WILL try to make him suffer this one last indignity. George Bush was probably not a great President, but in my opinion he is an honorable man which makes him great to me. After bj's in the bathroom of Clinton's White house it was a pleasure to see someone treat the "office" of the Presidency with respect. To see a man of clear moral fiber and true integrity. I won't argue that with you, in fact I'm about done arguing.
Democrats have succeeded in installing another immoral liar in to the White house. Oh he may be true to his wife, they certainly look chummy enough, but he is going to destroy the greatest nation ever to grace the planet and if you voted for him...you helped.
I pray that somehow in his infinite Mercy God will spare America but seeing as how so many people want nothing more to do with Him I'm less than convinced He will.
I will miss you Mr President, warts and all. You may not have been our best President, but you may wind up being our last good one.
