Maroon Lake, Colorado, near Aspen. A wonderful place to pitch a tent among the aspen trees and hike the two miles up (do I mean "UP!") to the glacial lake at the foot of the most photographed mountains in the USA - Maroon Bells. I've been there many times and believe it is one of the most beautiful natural spots in the country. Watch out for the mountain lions and don't feed the Marmots.
