So-so and Onward ...

Bunjii got off the plate after two or three hours. Maybe my screaming at the football game frightened him. He has been camped in a place in the kitchen for weeks, so I made it comfortable under the baker's rack where he stays. I put a pad and towel down there for him. I also slide his bowls under there at mealtimes.

I am busy painting again. It was a no-paint December. Lots on MY plate. So many cares, worries and disenchantments (sp?) last month. Enough for a whole year.

I completed a painting yesterday and stuck it in a frame. It is on a wall, and I am trying to see if I like it. If I don't, I won't paint it out or work on it again. I'll just give it away.

I started another one this morning.

I have to take three or four paintings over to the YMCA in the park. This is my month to exhibit there. I am always worried about security. The gallery space is in the foyer. The paintings will be vulnerable to theft.

Pisses me off.

It snowed for two hours. This is the first time we have had more than a half inch. I think it is supposed to go over to freezing rain or ice.

I needed to get back to painting. It removes the world from my head and my eyes. I paint my own world.

I'm hungry. I have a package of Prosciutto. Also some boneless pork loin. I may cut up some slices from the loin, fry them light in olive oil and quick fry some of the ham. Then I will arrange them like saltimbocca in a big baking dish, drizzle them with Marsala and oil, and bake them for a short time. A little bowl of Tagliatelle with Modena sauce on the side? Garlic bread? Vino! Of course. Nebbiolo or Chianti.

I wish the Browns would put in a call to Mike Holmgren and offer him millions to come fix the team. I am so ticked at the front office I would fire the ticket-takers. Mangini? Hell no! He is another Bellichek cast-off. But he did blow the whistle on the Patriots when they videotaped the Jets' signals from the sidelines. That makes him half good.

Shanahan would be OK, but he won't come to Cleveland. The press here don't think much of him. His teams are something like the Browns - they don't win when it really counts. But he wears two Super Bowl rings. That makes him half-OK.

No Marty ball again. No fired coaches from Detroit or Houston, either. And Cowher? He has Pittsburgh blood. The fans would boo him. He did begin his career on the Browns staff. That makes him a quarter OK.

No college coaches, either!

I think USC is the top college football team. They could beat anyone. Pete Carroll is the best coach I have ever seen. But even he was a flop in the NFL. College coaches teach a different game. The NFL is no place for amateurs.

Back to painting.

My latest work is on my web site: https://www.jondude.com/art.htm
It is titled CARNEROS DUSK II.

Wish I could afford one of you paintings. Keep taking good care of Bunjii. I know that you love him so.

What's the difference between this and linguini? They look very similar. You made me hungry and I love a good chianti

You mean the Browns is really a football team? I thought you were talking about baseball... Well, they're interchangeable, right?

Oh, my... Bunjii... I know you're worried and are doing all you can for him...

Thanks for keeping us in the loop about your football management picks. I am now thoroughly informed. You, in drag. What an image. Remember Robert Preston in Victor/Victoria? Remember also the football star, Alex Karrus, who had a role in the movie and they discover each other? If you have not seen this movie, you should get it.

Me horny? Hardly. I just have always noticed Pete Carroll's really nice hair.

All I know is my Colts are dead, and the Cubs signed Milton Bradley. Oh, and my IU Hoosiers stink--but we knew that was coming.

Very few college coaches succeed in the pros. It is a different mindset.
