I found my old BBQ Ribs recipe that once won a BBQ Rib cook-off:
1. This is for baby-back pork ribs. Prepare them to BBQ next day.
2. Get a few large bottles of the cheapest orange soda at your store.
3. Par-boil (in water) the ribs a couple minutes and remove, pat dry and allow to rest for 20 minutes. This removes most of the fat and dries the ribs so they can absorb.
4. Place ribs in a large pan and cover with the orange soda.
5. Cover the pan and refrigerate to marinate overnight. I have done it for up to 15 hours.
6. Next day, remove ribs and dump soda. Pat dry lightly.
7. BBQ ribs on a grill over open fire . Do NOT BBQ on aluminum foil. THAT'S CALLED FRYING!
8. Remove ribs and place in roasting pan. Slather with JACK DANIELS BBQ SAUCE.
9. Cover pan and roast in oven at 250 to 275F for two and a half hours, occasionally brushing the sauce over the ribs.
10 You're done.
