I am at the black dot. Seneca County. For the past couple hours we have been in an ice storm, sleet and freezing rain. This morning I got up and voted early. Then I drove to Kroger to lay up some supplies. On the way I felt sick and returned home. This afternoon I tried it again, then drove over to visit my Mom on the east end of Tiffin. On the way the ice started. I noted my car was covered completely with a layer of it. The windows cleaned off with defrosters, but the whole body is crusted.
I came back and noticed some fools were driving fast and jerky. One of them, a brand new-looking Checy Camaro, did a complete "Brody" 360 on the downslope of the bridge six houses from mine. He stopped when his wheels curbed.
I drove around the fool and pulled in my alley. It was tricky because it is totally icebound. I parked and carefully walked flatfooted to get my stuff from the passenger side. The back stones and sidewalk are like walking on an ice rink, so I walked on the grass to the back door. The steps are solid ice.
I am staying in my place until the stuff melts. To hell with what's left of this winter.
I have fresh strawberries, lots of cream, fresh peaches from Chile, a bottle of Pinto Grigio, some Doritos and small curd cottage cheese. That will be my dinner. No cooking.
If this ice continues, the wires may get knocked out. I hope not. I need electricity to write crap like this.
Stay warm and vote!
I see Brett Favre is retiring. He was (is) a great! He is a natural. The Hall of Fame has a spot reserved in his name.
