Yesterday they buried the five kids and one male adult who died in the fire here last weekend. As far as major local stories go, it was a big one and made the national news. The memorial events are going on. I am going to the Eagles lodge to pay tribute and a ten dollar donation. That is a concert put on by local and area music groups, mostly rock bands. There are other event planned and two funds are collecting money for Anna, the mother of the five under-six-years old children who died. The fire in their trailer was so bad that grief counselors and psychologists are working with the first responders, police and firemen who handled the blaze. Anna works at the Burger King here and many people are dropping off money for her there. I don't suppose she will go back to work for quite a while, after such a loss.
I am so far behind. I can't get the time to do my damn laundry. Three huge bags are ready to roll.
Been trying to get a large painting farther along. I have to hand it over, framed in two weeks! It is a tribute to my friends at the restaurant that caught fire in the Spring. They will reopen, hopefully, on early October.
Here is a photo of it in my studio last month. It is well along from this stage but you wouldn't know it.
It measures four feet long by two feet tall.
