Forgot This One ...

I finished this painting last October and set it aside to dry. I found it behind some canvases yesterday, so I signed it yesterday and here it is.

MONTEPULCIANO (an Italian hill town known for its special Chianti wine.) 16" wide by 12" tall, acrylic on canvas.

Pronounced 'mont-ay-pull-chee-ah-no'

A bit different, absolutely lovely.

Remember those wine bottles in raffia baskets so common here in the states in the 1960s and 70s, and they made good candle holders? Mr. YouKnow had one when we got married, and I kind of miss it, but don't have a special place for it, so probably just as well we don't have it any more.

Some chianti bottlers still use the round-bottom bottles and raffia wraps, but most use the traditional bottle, similar but not quite to the cabernet/merlot etc. red wine bottles. I remember they made great college candle-holder decor. LOL

I was in Siena and left the rental car there for two days, rented a Moped (Puch) and scootered all over the Tuscan area south and east of there. Best way to see it! Montepulciano is where one of my fave Chiantis comes from. A nearby hill town named Montalcino is a good wine place, too.

just a little trivia, one of the twilight movies was filmed there.

you would not like them. it's a vampire/human love story. not your typical vampires, they can go out in daylight, they only 'eat' animals. it's more of a sappy teenage thing but I loved the books and the movies.

I never saw a Twilight movie. What are they about?

As talentless as I am in art, no canvas would go unnoticed. It's beautiful.
