A Visit with the Vet (Or) Poor Buster

It was sunny and almost warm here today when the boyz and I set out for the Vet's office about a half mile down the road! Soo much to sniff and well you know, pee on. Then we met Ernie and his mistress and life was good!

The boyz know where we're going after we pass the turnoff to the falls, and they head straight for the office door when we reach the parking lot! Soo many dogs to, well, you know, sniff! I think Benny will still enjoy the experience since he only had a few shots and a quick nail trim, which he doesn't usually object to at home.

On the other hand, when Buster's turn came, he was ready to leave before he got all the way onto the exam table. Twice the vet tried to trim a nail, and OMG, you'd think the poor boy was being tortured! Not just howling, but crying!

They decided that he needed to be tranquilized, so they took him to the back and had Benny and I wait in the waiting room. Doc saw the other patients, then they howling resumed. Not quite as loud or prolonged as before the morphene, but it was obvious that somebody wasn't happy.

The only other person left in the waiting room was sitting across from me and she asked if I *that* was my other dog when we heard Buster bouncing off the wall. "Yup", I said, "All that for a nail trim!"

The boy still seemed to be full of pep when they finally brought him out, and he walked home fine. No food and water for awhile the tech said, and that turns out not to be an issue. He hit is bed (and I do mean hit) and that's the last I've seen of him. He was sleeping when I went to check, but this is how he looked when we first got home:

Benny's already looking at the cabinet for dinner, but Buster isn't ready yet, I just checked and he's out of it. LOL I shouldn't laugh, but all this for a clip. Donna didn't hear this much whining when I had my tail cut off!
