This is a tough holiday to celebrate with somebody who has been doing the Atkins diet for the past seven months. You can't buy much of anything that doesn't involve chocolate. Last year I got her a stuff animal that was sitting in a large coffee cup. I figured she'd use the cup, but it's still sitting on display in the living room.
The price of flowers, even at Wal-mart yesterday, was um... well, I'm not paying that much for cut flowers. So I came up with another idea that is edible AND Atkins friendly!

Hopefully that looks to you like a heart-shaped pizza. Neither of us prefer tomato sauce on pizza, so this contains only crust and toppings--meat, sausage, pepper, onion, and cheese.
What makes it Atkins friendly is the crust. It's not pizza crust, not a bit of flour. The crust is made from minced cauliflower and shredded mozzarella. It tastes so good that I eat it too! Maybe it will be heart-shaped eggs for her tomorrow morning for breakfast!
