College kids, fellow travelers we all been aboard this beastly machine, that looks more like a metal bread box than a machine of transportation.
Ah yes by now, you know that I am talking about buses or Acadian buses to be more exact. (Perhaps you folks have the Grey hound bus).
For some reason or another the engineers and designers of this machine set out bet for each other. The engineerer knowing how much of a perfectionist his fellow designer is said " Hahah I bet you cant make this machine so ugly that nobody will Want to go on it". The designer was rather shock by this bold challenge. He was a designer a man of good taste and of high morals! He was always asked to make things more elegant and beautiful for all to see but never to make something uglier. The designer nether less took up the challenge for he was a pompous man and knew he could make the machine ugly as sin.
The designer thinking that since the bus was to be ugly then it should also be horrible experience for the senses. The designer then proposed the task to the engineer and said "Well if you think are so high and mighty then you should be able to make the bus an terrible ride for all. At the very least it should make people sleepy. And at the most extreme it should make people motion sick."
But some of you will say but Sarah there is televisions in some of these buses, how can that be ugly or discomforting? Ah well the answer to that is simple, the televisions are mere distractions, or ways to lure the passenger onto the bus ... before they notice the depressing Grey fabric with eighties pink blobs dashed on there for good measure.
Till this day no one knew of the story behind buses. But what still remains mystery is why the challenges were made and what was the reward in the end.
And as for the engineer and the designer ... who knows what else they have created (or destroyed) in their quests.
